Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning In Brooklyn, NY

Multi-pass HEPA cleaning after a renovation — including every molding profile the dust has settled into.

About Our Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning

Renovation dust is not ordinary dust. Drywall dust is fine enough to stay airborne for hours, settles into every surface, seam and fabric in a house, and returns twice more after the first clean. In a Victorian it's worse still, because there are several hundred feet of molding profiles for it to settle into and it will not come out with a wipe. This is a specialist multi-pass service using HEPA filtration, with the right products for paint flecks, adhesive residue, grout haze and joint-compound film.

Victorian Flatbush renovates constantly and carefully — kitchens brought forward a century without losing the room, bathrooms rebuilt around original tile, attics finished, porches rebuilt to the original profile, and whole houses restored by owners who've waited years for the chance. What every one of those projects has in common is the aftermath. Drywall dust settles into the beading on a picture rail, along the top edge of eight-inch baseboards, into the carving on a newel post, and along every casing in the house. Wiping it off a molding profile just packs it further into the detail; it has to be vacuumed out with a brush attachment first, then wiped.

We work in passes. The first removes bulk debris and heavy dust with HEPA-filtered equipment, strictly top-down through the house — ceilings, picture rails and high molding, light fixtures, then walls, casings, surfaces, and finally floors. The second pass, once airborne dust has settled, collects everything that fell during the first. A third detail pass handles the rest: paint flecks scraped from glass and hardware, adhesive and label residue off new appliances and fixtures, grout haze polished from new tile, joint-compound film wiped from frames and tracks, and inside every cabinet — including the original built-ins — before anything goes back into them.

Older houses add a particular risk we plan around: original surfaces sitting right next to brand-new ones. A restored bathroom might have hundred-year-old hex tile beside newly sealed grout; a rebuilt kitchen might have new quartz against original oak trim. The products that suit one can damage the other, so we work surface by surface rather than applying one cleaner throughout. We coordinate directly with contractors and GCs, we can come in between trades if you need the space usable partway through, and we quote flat once we understand the scope — a bathroom refit and a whole-house restoration are entirely different jobs.

Our Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning Process

A clear, step-by-step path from quote to spotless results.

    1

    Scope The Project

What was done, how much of the house, how many rooms of original trim were exposed, and whether the punch list is finished.

    2

    Vacuum Before Wiping

Every molding profile gets brush-vacuumed first. Wiping drywall dust off carved detail just packs it deeper into the profile.

    3

    Second Pass After Settling

Once the air clears we go back over everything to collect what fell during the first pass — the step that makes it hold.

    4

    Detail And Walkthrough

Paint, adhesive, grout haze, inside built-ins, vents and tracks — floors last, then a walkthrough with you or your contractor.

    Post-Construction / Renovation Cleaning FAQ

Drywall dust behaves nothing like ordinary dirt. It's extremely fine, stays airborne for hours, and a vacuum without proper filtration blows it back into the room through the exhaust. Any single-pass clean looks fine for an hour, then goes visibly dusty again as the disturbed dust resettles.
